<\/figure>\n\n\n\nDurante el per\u00edodo 1940-1952, la ciudad de Pinar del R\u00edo, marcada hasta la fecha por un tradicional atraso sociocultural, comienza a asistir a su modernizaci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, la expansi\u00f3n urbana y demogr\u00e1fica, junto la pobreza en la que viv\u00eda buena parte de los pinare\u00f1os, fueron consideradas como causas del relajamiento de las costumbres que propiciaron el incremento de la criminalidad. Sin embargo, \u00bffueron solo los pobres los delincuentes? \u00bfCu\u00e1les fueron las principales manifestaciones del crimen com\u00fan en la ciudad pinare\u00f1a? \u00bfC\u00f3mo se articul\u00f3 la respuesta judicial ante el crimen? Este art\u00edculo se propone, desde el an\u00e1lisis de las causas judiciales seguidas en la ciudad de Pinar del R\u00edo, comparar la respuesta judicial ante el crimen convencional y el tratamiento de la justicia ante el delito cometido por los poderosos en la ciudad de Pinar del R\u00edo, durante el per\u00edodo 1940-1952, a partir de considerar que la criminalidad reconocida y castigada estaba relacionada con un proceso en el que el control social etiquetaba a los sujetos, de forma tal que ciertos delitos convencionales trascend\u00edan, se penaban y visualizaban, en tanto otros, cuantitativamente mayoritarios, eran soslayados por ser cometidos en los predios de individuos o sectores econ\u00f3micamente empoderados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n During the period 1940-1952, the Pinar del Rio city, characterized so far by a traditional sociocultural backwardness, begins to attend its modernization. However, the urban and demographic expansion, together the poverty in which good part of the people lived, they were considered as causes of the distension of the customs that propitiated the increment of the crime rate. Were the poor however, alone the criminals? Which were the main manifestations of the common crime in the city? How was the judicial answer articulated before the crime?
